Taigi Privacy Policy

Taigi ("we", "us") is a stories-and-learning app for families — stories, interactive learning and family voices in English and Telugu. It is made for parents and guardians; children use Taigi in a child's mode inside a parent's account, under the parent's supervision.

The short version. We collect as little as we can. Your child's name, age and learning progress never leave your device. What we store in the cloud is your sign-in identity and your family's own keepsakes — the names you add for family members and the voice recordings you choose to keep. We show no ads, we sell nothing about you, and you can delete everything from inside the app.

1. What we collect

From the parent who creates the account:

Sign-in identity. Taigi uses Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. We receive the account identifier and, if you share them, your name and email address. We never see your password.
Family voices. If you record or import a voice note (for example, a grandparent's message), we store that audio recording, its title, its date, and which family member it belongs to.
Family member cards. The names you enter for family members, with the emoji and color you pick for each. Taigi does not ask for their photos, emails or phone numbers.

From your child: nothing that leaves the device. Your child's first name, birth month and age band, favourites, stars and all learning progress are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers. We do not collect your child's photos, videos, location or contacts, and children cannot enter free text anywhere in the child's mode.

Automatically: anonymous crash and performance reports through Apple's built-in MetricKit system, only if you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in your device settings. These contain no personal information and no content.

2. What we do with it

Operate your family's private space — keep your recordings safe and available to your family across your devices.
Sign you in and keep your account secure.
Fix crashes and improve performance.

That is the whole list. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build profiles of you or your child, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

3. Where it lives

Taigi's cloud runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Storage), acting as our infrastructure provider. Your family's data is protected by access rules so that only your signed-in account can read or write it. Story and learning content the app downloads is public, one-way material and carries nothing about you.

4. Children's privacy

Taigi is designed to be COPPA-conscious by architecture: the account belongs to the parent, the child's mode is entered from the parent's app, and leaving it requires an adult gate. We collect no personal information from children online — the child's profile and progress stay on the device, and the child's mode has no ads, no external links, no purchases, and no way to type or share anything.

5. Your controls

Delete a recording any time inside the app.
Delete your whole account in Settings › Account › Delete — this permanently removes your cloud data, including all voice recordings and family member cards.
Delete the child's on-device data by deleting the app, or the account, from the device.
Ask us anything, or request a copy or deletion of your data, at privacy@taigi.ai. We respond within 30 days.

6. Retention

We keep your family's data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a recording or your account, it is removed from our systems; short-lived backups age out automatically. Anonymous crash statistics are kept only in aggregate.

7. Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) and is stored on Google infrastructure with per-family access rules. Your family identifier is held in your device's Keychain. No internet service can promise perfect security, but we design so that the most precious things — your child's details — never need to leave your home at all.

8. International users

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Taigi from elsewhere (including India and the EU), your cloud data — the parent account and family recordings described above — is processed in the US under this policy. Where local law grants you rights to access, correct, or erase your data, we honor them through the controls in section 5.

9. Payments

Taigi is currently free while in family testing. If a paid subscription launches, payment will be handled by a dedicated payment provider; we will never see or store your card details, and this policy will be updated first.

10. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app and update the date at the top. We will never quietly reduce the protections described here — especially section 4.
